Principal photography is officially underway in Thomasville, Georgia is for Golden Globe-winning actor Kevin Bacon’s new action thriller, One Way, with actress Storm Reid (Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, Blumhouse’s Don’t Let Go) heading up a raft of new casting additions this week.

Reid joins headliners Bacon (Black Mass, Mystic River, Showtime’s “City on a Hill”), actors Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker (The Dirt, Project Power), and Travis Fimmel (Ridley Scott’s ”Raised by Wolves,” “Vikings,” Warcraft) with Andrew Baird (Zone 414) directing from a script by Ben Conway.

Thomasville Pictures is producing One Way, which sees Baker in the role of Freddy, on the lam with a bag full of cash and near-fatally wounded after robbing his former crime boss. Slipping onto a bus headed into the unrelenting California desert, Freddy is soon betrayed after a call for help cues his estranged father (Bacon), who then informs his former ex-employer where Freddy is. With his life slipping through his fingers, Freddy is left with very few choices to survive. There is only one way.

Rounding out the cast are Drea de Matteo (“The Sopranos,” Dark Places), Meagan Holder (Jersey Boys, FOX’s “Pitch”), Thomas Francis Murphy (News of the World, Netflix’s “Mindhunter”), Luis Da Silva Jr. (21 Jump Street, Fast Five), Rhys Coiro (Hustlers, “Entourage”), Danny Bohnen (The Last Son), Scotty Bohnen (FOX’s Deputy), and Casie Colson Baker. Highland Film Group is handling worldwide sales.

“Storm Reid is one of the most talented young actors of this generation. We are thrilled to have her join the cast of One Way alongside an all-star cast with a huge international appeal,” Highland Film Group CEO Arianne Fraser stated.

“Andrew Baird has lined up a dream cast. We are excited to start shooting very soon in Georgia. The team is following rigorous Covid-19 protocols to ensure the safety of the cast and crew while also bringing this stunning film to life to satisfy the appetite of distributors and their audiences,” continued Highland Film Group COO Delphine Perrier.

“I was looking for a young actress with the same power and talent as Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver. When my producing partner, Martin Brennan showed me Storm, I knew right away we found her. To round out the cast with such great and seasoned talents as Drea, Meagan, Luis and Rhys and the rest of them; I feel extremely lucky. I take great care in casting and this truly is and exceptional ensemble,” said director Andrew Baird.

Among her achievements, Reid began her professional acting career at a young age starring in films such as the Academy Award Winner 12 Years a Slave, and the science fiction drama film Sleight, Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans,” “NCIS,” and as the lead in Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time, for which she received a Teen Choice Award nomination and an NAACP Image Award nomination. Reid recently appeared in Netflix’s “When They See Us,” HBO’s “Euphoria,” Hulu’s “The Bravest Knight,” and Blumhouse’s film Don’t Let Go, and will be seen again later this year in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad with alongside Margot Robbie, Sylvester Stallone, and Idris Elba.
