Third Window Films is proudly taking the mantle to release their latest epic war drama, Onoda: 10,000 Nights In The Jungle. Exhibitors in the UK and Ireland all have limited theatrical dates from next week on Friday, April 15, through May with more dates to be announced.

Japan, 1944. Trained for intelligence work, Hiroo Onoda, 22 years old, discovers a philosophy contrary to the official line: no suicide, stay alive whatever happens, the mission is more important than anything else. Sent to Lubang, a small island in the Philippines where the Americans are about to land, his role will be to wage a guerilla war until the return of the Japanese troops. The Empire will surrender soon after, but for Onoda and his men, the war will go on for 10,000 more days.

The film marks writer/director Arthur Harari’s third feature endeavor, submitted to Cannes’s Un Certain Regard section and opening for the festival last year, and has garnered even more acclaim at the 47th César Awards winning Best Original Screenplay; the 74th French Association of Film Critics for Best French Film; the 18th Seville European Film Festival for the Grand Jury Award, and Brazil’s 45th Sao Paulo Intl Film Festival for the Audience Award.

Third Window will also release the film on Region B Blu-Ray and VOD from May 16, with special features to include interviews with Harari, with actor Kanji Tsuda, director of photography Tom Harari, and assistant director Benjamin Papin. Visit Third Window Films for all your necessities and more.
