Optimus Prime Makes A Dark Deal In The Newest TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT Trailer

There’s plenty to take issue with when it comes to anything live-action and Transformer movie-related. Granted however, each of them guarantee a good time at the movies in some capacity and one can certainly have hoped that the franchise in its current growth would reconfigure some of its faults and flaws with each installment.
Surely enough that extends to Transformers: The Last Knight ahead of its release this July and a brand new trailer arrived on Wednesday leaving plenty of footage to fawn over in its wake next to that of others. Mark Wahlberg is back and battling the giant robot aliens with Earth even worse off than in previous installments and there are more movies in store after this, too, so one wonders just where this will go.
In the meantime, no, I’m not hugely familiar with the IP so the shots here in the trailer with our aliens sharing the battlefield with medieval knights is something new to me – almost as if they’re leading by the nose wherever this property takes them. It’s pretty much been that way since the very first film brought us the Witwicky family and now we have a newer set of young cast members woven into the mix led by actress Isabella Moner, and with actress Laura Haddock and actors Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Hopkins and John Tuturro also starring.

When all seems lost, a few brave souls can save everything we’ve ever known.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes.  Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.

Maybe the film will finally deliver the solumn sci-fi outing that the franchise has been craving while it admittedly aims to turn the narrative on its head in lieu of a mysterious plot point to be revealed. It sounds fruitful even as the franchise itself has been so clumsily handed to us amid the spectacle and entertainment, so.. cautious optimism it is then?
