Panem Rebels Find Their Leader In The First Teaser For THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1

Between now and next year, the world will catch fire as actress Jennifer Lawrence returns to the fray as the lead heroine in the two part finale to the epic Hunger Games franchise, with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

The YA novel-inspired film franchise has become a major phenomenon on the big screen since 2012 featuring a dystopian world in which brave heroine archer, Katniss Everdeen, has become the unwitting symbol of the oppressed people of Panem, against the will of the Capitol’s own President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland. The story has evolved into a fully-layered saga filled with action, adventure, romance, drama and intense danger that has inspired fans around the world, and even other independent filmmakers who have grown to immerse themselves in Suzanne Collins’s universe.

Sadly, this two-part finale also brought the significant challenges of filling the void left behind upon the tragic passing of actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman, whose character, Plutarch Heavensbee, has played an intergral role between the second film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2012), and the final two films; Hoffman died on February 12 this year at the age of 46, leaving Lionsgate the task of reworking the scenes needed to bring the right end to a story that has captured the hearts and minds of fans around the world.
Directed by Catching Fire helmer Francis Lawrence, that story continues on November 12, preceeded by next year’s release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 20.
