PERIOD: Rina Takeda Clocks In On Her Latest Killer Role In The First Teaser Ahead Of Yubari

The 36th edition of the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival kicks off from June 7. For those in attendance, that means getting a look at Period, the latest action noir from director Keiji Miyano who makes his return to Yubari seven years after premiering his 2019 comedy, Neet Neet Neet.

The film also means another entry in the action arena for actress and martial arts star Rina Takeda, who’s since sharpened herself as a proficient actress to match her screenfighting poise. Her latest role in Period now gets a humble tease in new footage which you can view below, just as her latest prospect with screen legend Yasuaki Kurata in Dream Story: The Living Dragon, also makes the rounds.

Takeda plays Rei, a watch repairwoman with her own seaside workshop by day, and an assassin by night, moving like a shadow and eliminating criminal agitators from various organizations. She also lives in the same town as her rival with whom she grew up in the same orphanage. The crux of the story will focus on what happens between both expert killers when a fated encounter ensues following the arrival of a mysterious man Rei is drawn to.

Miyano directs Period from a script he wrote. Takeda leads a cast that also lists Kyusaku Shimada, Masato Hagiwara, and Reiya Seguchi, alonh with Ayaka Imoto, Yu Koyanagi, Kenny Okura, Una Mikage, Yuta Niino, Manabu Konno, and Narumi Arimori, along with a special appearance by Hiroshi Fuse.
