34 year old martial artist and stunt actor Petar Hristov is a bona fide fan of martial arts cinema. Inspired by old school kung fu classics like Jackie Chan’s 1978 smash hit, Snake In The Eagle’s Shadow, Petar started training in Karate at the age of 13.
Since then, he has trained and experimented with several styles of martial arts and weapons, ultimately to find himself in the new millennium among the ranks of today’s aspiring stunt perfomers and martial arts internet filmmakers. He manages his own Youtube channel, an action cinema pictoral fan page on Facebook, and is now a six-year member of the Bulgaria-based stunt troupe, Evdemonia Stunt Team, founded by industry actor, stuntman and stunt coordinator Emil Videv, whose work includes Isaac Florentine’s military martial arts action thriller, U.S. Seals 2: The Ultimate Force, director Brian de Palma’s 2006 murder mystery feature, The Black Dahlia, and the European TV series, Magna Aura.
I asked Petar to best describe his experience in learning from one of the best in his field as he continues to pursue his dreams as a rising action performer. He is still learning English, so it was a little difficult for him to express. But nonetheless, he best describes his experience working with Emil and the team as an educational one.
