Quentin Tarantino Doc, QT8: THE FIRST EIGHT, Scores A One-Night U.S. Premiere In Select Theaters October 21

QT8: The First Eight

Do you remember the first Quentin Tarantino film you ever saw? My exposure was Pulp Fiction, then Jackie Brown and I eventually got to familiarize myself with Reservoir Dogs along with his other titles.

The director’s latest release, Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, continues to be a pot-stirrer among the opinionated film crowd following its release this summer whilst continuing to exude his highly noted and impressive caliber of work.

That won’t be all we hear of him this year though as writer and director Tara Wood‘s long-awaited Tarantino documentary now readies a one-night outing courtesy of Fathom Events. The new title, QT8: The First Eight (formerly 21 Years: Quentin Tarantino) will be seen across the marquee at up to 800 participating theaters nationwide on October 21.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Fathom events to bring ‘QT8: The First Eight,’ to Tarantino’s voracious fans throughout the country,” said director Tara Wood. “Quentin’s filmography is on its own incomparable level. His films inspire, provoke and challenge us individually and as a society to the utmost extremes, all stemming from his passion for people and continuous exploration of the human condition.”

The new documentary focusing on the man behind highly entertaining thrillers like Kill Bill and Django Unchained, has been long in the works since its announcement in 2015. Having endured legal myopia thanks to the misgivings of its beleagured former home at The Weinstein Company in the last several years didn’t help much either.

For this, it’ll likely be a warm and welcome treat for fans of the director. Actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Kurt Russell, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Jason Lee, Lucy Liu, Diane Kruger, Zoe Bell and other experts and those in the know will take center stage shedding new light on the life and legacy of Quentin Tarantino, giving viewers what the announcement bills as “unprecedented access to his vision throughout his career”.

“Fathom continually strives to bring premium, exclusive documentaries to audiences across the country,” said Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt. “In bringing ‘QT8: The First Eight’ to cinemas nationwide, we certainly achieve that goal, giving behind-the-scenes access to the career of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.”
