RAGING FIRE: Donnie Yen/Nicholas Tse Cop Actioner Announced At FilMart

Emperor Motion Pictures made it official this week with the announcement of Raging Fire. Thought to be a new rendition of last year’s announced Crossfire project joining Benny Chan and action star Donnie Yen, THR reports that Raging Fire is an entirely different film altogether that will also star Nicholas Tse.

Shan (Donnie YEN) is a righteous cop who’s solved countless cases. One day, his past comes back to haunt him when his sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals led by Ngo (Nicholas TSE), his former protégé.

Ngo was once a talented cop who admired Shan. However, a terrible accident sent him to prison three years ago, transforming him into a furious man dead set on killing everyone who’s wronged him – including his former mentor.

The film is just one of several Donnie Yen starrers making the market rounds this year with Ip Man 4: The Finale coming this summer and with U.S. and U.K. releases awaiting from Well Go USA, and the forthcoming release of Enter The Fat Dragon.

Raging Fire will be a third outing for Yen and Tse who previously shared the screen together in Wilson Yip’s Dragon Tiger Gate (2006), and Teddy Chan’s Bodyguards And Assassins (2009). Both actors share a history with Chan that also dates back to the 1990s with their own respective credits on such films as ATV Home’s Fist Of Fury (1995), Shaolin (2011) and Invisible Target (2007).

A collab between Yen and Tse had previously been in the works with Chan Hing-kai set to direct Enter The Master back in 2012, but that project never came to pass.

A teaser poster for Raging Fire has also been making the rounds accordingly which you can view below. (THR)
