Crowdfunding finally launched on Wednesday for Stephen DeGenaro’s new gritty martial arts thriller, Raging Jake. We first picked up on it back in March with DeGenaro setting up an earlier launch date for crowdfunding as things took time to develop and now, plans are in motion to adapt DeGenaro’s own literary work with a feature concept years in the making.
After the sudden death of his mother, Jake — a professional fighter living a controlled, disciplined life — is forced to return to the hometown he left behind.
What he finds is a city controlled by corruption and violence,where his brother has been framed and powerful criminal forces are tightening their grip.
As loyalties fracture and the pressure builds, Jake is pulled back into a world he fought hard to escape.
With time running out and violence closing in, he must confront his past and unleash the brutality he once left behind to expose the truth and bring his brother home.
The pitch also includes a proof trailer DeGenaro has been touting online, specially via the socials on Facebook and Instagram which also features the posthumous casting of late martial arts film legend Richard Norton. For this, DeGenaro and his team are looking toward Indiegogo to bring Raging Jake full circle in its fundraising goals, with all the available perks at donors’ disposal.
