At one point, martial arts action star, actor Scott Adkins injured his back during the filming of a pivotal chase sequence in director Isaac Florentine‘s latest thriller, Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear, a point he explained in an interview with Crave to promote the film back in September during Fantastic Fest. If anything by now, this gives you a pretty good idea of what action stars with as much calibur as Adkins do for their fans, on top of stars like Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone, Tony Jaa, Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Khan and Donnie Yen to name a few. And to say the least, the critical success and upworthy reviews that the film has earned this summer speaks for itself.

Indeed, it is pretty clear that a lot rides on a film’s success if fans and film patrons enjoy it and want to see more. Simply put however, it costs money, and the lack of money cost any commercial success Adkins‘ previous film, Undisputed 3: Redemption would have had despite being one of the best martial arts movies ever shot on film for a feature length distribution. And with his newest film now making its way to North America, Adkins wants you to know that as much as he loves making movies and performing for adoring fans who love his work, that he did not injure his back for nothing.
Echoing similar sentiments made public in September, Adkins took to Facebook on Tuesday to post the following message embedded above (you can read the quote below in case the embed fails to load.):

SYNOPSIS:

Casey Bowman has finally settled down. He’s happily married to Namiko (who is pregnant with their first child), living in Japan and teaching at the Koga dojo. While buying her a present, Casey is attacked by two punks. He shrugs it off, assuming it to be a simple mugging. But when Namiko is brutally murdered later that same night, Casey’s world falls apart. Stricken with grief and thirsty for revenge, Casey tracks down the two thugs who tried to rob him, but they can’t provide him with any clues to his wife’s murder. So Casey travels to Thailand, to the dojo of a close friend. His grief and anger are taking control of him and he lashes out while sparring with other students. When one of the students is killed in the same way as Namiko, Casey finally gets the clues he needs to track down his wife’s killer and unravel a mystery of grudges deep in the Burmese jungle.
