“You must know… you can’t win.”
That’s a line voiced by Anthony Hopkins in the mo-capped robot role of Jimmy opposite the lead heroine in actress Sofia Boutella as they and the cast get ready to close things out with Zack Snyder’s April 19 release, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Indeed that line had me recounting Boutella’s recent reception of the fan backlash along with the eventful surge of Snyder-hate that usually arises. I admit, even I share some opinions as we’re all allowed to, but my focus is largely on the work and for what it’s worth, Boutella has been a fantastic player in the film arena. She’s a favorite, and on that note, The Scargiver looks like it’ll be fun to gaze at when it releases.
REBEL MOON — PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.
Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child Of Fire is already available on the streamer if by any chance you haven’t caught up yet. I didn’t put together a review or anything but just as I prospect for the sequel, the first part a fun watch. It’s no Star Wars, but that’s fine too. Just bring popcorn, relax the brain, watch the good guys fight the bad and let’s see where this takes us.
