REBEL MOON Trailer Rises To The Occasion With Nearly Four Minutes Of Epic World-Building Sci-Fi And Thrills
Just in time for the crowd over at GamesCon on Tuesday came the arrival of the first, extensive trailer footage for Zack Snyder’s new sci-fi epic, Rebel Moon. Making good on the promise of a twofer is the included announcement of the first chapter titled A Child Of Fire on December 22, followed by The Scargiver next year on April 19.
A CASE FOR BETTER DC MOVIES….And Fandoms
As hard as it is to keep up with superhero lore in movie news, it is also intriguing to observe over time. Updates on development, creative choices, and casting can read as nothing more than “leaked” reports or merely suggest insight from otherwise unnamed “sources” and frankly, it’s all just bullshit to take with a grain of salt until the trade reports are published, the IMDb pages get updated, stills are distributed and a trailer is released. That’s the approach I’ve taken, although I rarely speak on superhero films until I feel like throwing my hat in the ring, and so before we segue into a new year, after one in which we’ve now born witness to some of the most divisive events on a corporate level to ever affect consumers on a massive scale since the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney, I thought I’d chime in.

Zack Snyder Film REBEL MOON to Debut on Netflix
Netflix has announced it’s first acquisition under their first look partnership with The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller. Starring Sofia Boutella (Fahrenheit 451, The Kingsman) the film marks not only the first film under a first look deal with Netflix and The Stone Quarry, but also continues Netflix’s relationship with the company and the Snyders after the success of Army of the Dead and it’s prequel Army of Thieves, which is the current #1 film in 90+ countries.
Zack Snyder Lands On Kurosawa-Inspired Sci-Fi REBEL MOON For Netflix
Always the rabblerouser, filmmaker Zack Snyder lit up both ends of the candle this year with a four-hour rendition of his long-heralded self-titled Justice League on HBO Max, and action-packed dystopian zombie romp, Army Of The Dead, which has its own franchise currently brewing on Netflix.
ARMY OF THE DEAD Review: Netflix’s Latest Love-It-Or-Hate-It Gamble Asserts What We Already Know
I’m not a huge horrorhead like our own Christina Ortega Phillips, though I always prefer a good thriller to bide my time more than anything. For this, you can trust that a zombie movie like Army Of The Dead is something I would’ve avoided as nothing short of what sounded like the title of another direct-to-Walmart action flick were it not for the huge names attached – including one Zack Snyder, best known for rallying a loyal cult following with graphic novel-style flexes such as 300, Watchmen and Sucker Punch, coupled with the kind of signature “messy” flair he applies to his craft.

Zack Snyder To Raise An ARMY OF THE DEAD For Netflix
Warner Bros.
Review: JUSTICE LEAGUE Is A Beautiful, Chaotic, Entertaining Mess
Things got worse last March when Snyder had to leave the project entirely due to the tragic suicide of his daughter – something that more than a few fanboys treated like poetic justice for making a comic book movie they didn’t like. Snyder’s replacement for the (extensive) reshoots and post-production couldn’t have been more different from him; Avengers director Joss Whedon. It wasn’t until the release of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman that the tide started to turn in Justice League’s favor. WW was a terrific, optimistic film that somehow managed to balance the stylistic throughline of Snyder’s films while avoiding the bleakness that made those films harder to enjoy. Now is the moment of truth. Now we all get to see for ourselves if a film whose genesis was this tumultuous can actually be any good.
JUSTICE LEAGUE: The Heroes Are Almost All-In In The Final Trailer
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have been hitting hard and heavy in the days leading up to this weekend’s New York Comic Con for Justice League. Hailing from director with extinuating work by Joss Whedon in recent months, time will tell if all those rumored reshoots made a difference when the film opens next month.
JUSTICE LEAGUE Nails It With The New Comic-Con Sneak Peek Trailer
The earlier trailers for Zack Snyder’s latest film, Justice League, haven’t been all approving despite attempts to keep the energy and excitement high (Godsmack’s “Come Together” was a nice added touch last time). Needless to say, just splashing our heroes onto the screen hasn’t really been enough for a lot of positive feedback to stick and this, coupled with Joss Whedon’s entry to help finish the film following Snyder’s own departure for personal matters have certainly added a pinch of uncertainty.
Thus, this latest hat trick being from Warner Bros. Pictures for its DC Comics adapations is set for a November 17 release and amid all things Comic-Con this weekend, a fresh new trailer arrived online and right off the bat, you can instantly tell the change in tone and substance from before. We get glimpses of all our heroes opposite our current villain in Darkseid’s general, Steppenwolf, as he threatens to lay waste to Earth including Themyscira, and more importantly, the trailer arouses some much-needed empathy and depth this time around.
It also teases a little something special at the tail end, but one hopes these are all good signs of a production that has finally found its footing. Only four months left until critics and fans decide for themselves what becomes of the future of the DCEU on the big screen and with Affleck apparently seeking an out from Batman in the not too distant future (…or maybe not? ?) and Snyder’s post BvS work coming off of a stringent start, this one definitely needs to be a hit.
Check out the extensive new trailer below for Justice League which joins Affleck with actress Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jeremy Irons, Ciaran Hinds and J.K. Simmons.
JUSTICE LEAGUE Poster And Teases Announce Official Trailer Launching Saturday!
It’s perhaps the one other biggest superhero amalgam to be put on the screen following Marvel’s The Avengers. Surely, the execution of the DCU mostly housed at Warner Bros. hasn’t been a flawless one, but it has grasped itself a footing with some great prospects in hand, mile-marked by the forthcoming release of the new movie, Justice League.
The first official teaser arrived via Comic-Con in San Diego last year offering a meaty, lighter feel for its touch with Zack Snyder and folks at Warner Bros. moving to help reverse course on a few creative areas after Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. As of Wednesday, the first of a slate of several official tease announcements for the film’s full trailer went viral with a launch date now set for this Saturday, March 25.
SYNOPSIS:
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League joins Momoa with returning cast members Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. The mix of returning and new faces also includes Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg for the film’s November 17 release.
The trailer teases will accumulate in the playlist beneath once they all officially arrive, so feel free to watch this space for more information as the trailer approaches. Check them out as they load from here on, as well as the new teaser poster just beneath!
