Rooster Teeth And Tugg Are Bringing RWBY To Theaters

Deadline is reporting that Rooster Teeth and Tugg are joining forces once again following up their initial big screen offering for Matt Hullum’s sci-fi action comedy, Lazer Team. This time, the goal will be getting the popular animated series, RWBY, released in the form of three-feature films with the first slated to release on April 27.

SYNOPSIS

A young hero, an exalted heiress, a troubled rogue, and a party girl… These are the four members of RWBY, a team brought together and trained for the sole purpose of combating the rampant evils that plague the fantastic world of Remnant.

RWBY focuses on 15-year-old Ruby Rose, a young girl who has just been accepted to Beacon Academy. This ancient school was founded to train the monster-slayers known as Huntsmen and Huntresses. However, Ruby will not be alone. Upon arriving at Beacon, she is promptly paired with Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. If these four girls want to graduate they’ll have to learn to work together both on the battlefield and in the classroom.

The show is the work of a team led by its empassioned creator, filmmaker Monty Oum co-wrote Rooster Teeth’s long-running Red Vs. Blue series, with RWBY earning massive fan acclaim upon its online release in 2013. Oum tragically passed away two years ago from complications during a medical procedure at the age of 33.

Releases for the first film will be in the U.S. and Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets are now on sale as per Rooster Teeth’s promotional strategy which you can learn more about at their official website. Apart from the aforementioned April date, releases for the second and third film are reportedly being planned for July and October. Episodic versions of all three Volumes of RWBY are currently viewable through Rooster Teeth‘s YouTube portal with feature-length availability on DVD, Blu-Ray and VoD.
