Heralded as a major boon for Indian cinema in the West, S.S. Rajamouli’s smash hit epic, RRR, has been burning the charts and blogs, selling out theaters all over the world since opening domestically last Spring. Shepherded by Variance Films and Potentate Films since last summer, its concurrent success remains so with a steady campaign of theatrical screenings coupled with Q&A events with the director and even press interviews with the major trades for leading stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan, and literally dozens of nods and wins from major awards organizations including the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, the NY Film Critic Circle, and LA Film Critics Association.
And not for nothing either as the film is even lauded by filmmaker James Cameron who is enticed to work with Rajamouli on something for which we now eagerly await future discussions.
