Salma Hayek Actioner, EVERLY Gets Release Dates And A New Music Video

It’s been a much longer-than-preferred wait, although it is safe to say that anyone eagerly awaiting the release of Knights Of Badassdom helmer, director and co-writer Joe Lynch‘s new movie, Everly will be nothing short of entertained, as per many of the positive responses stemming from its premiere during this year’s Fantastic Fest. It’s certainly a worthy wait for action film junkies looking to see actress Salma Hayek in one of her sexiest, toughest roles yet in a film often likened to Die Hard for its holiday-themed high-octane thrills, suspenseful story with tons of epic and explosive action to boot.

As such, its great to know that Lynch has our best interests at heart, and thankfully, as the year comes to a close, we won’t have to wait much longer to see how it all comes together. Entertainment Weekly brings exclusive word that the film will finally be making way iTunes and video-on-demand on January 23 followed by a theatrical release on February 27, courtesy of Radius/TWC. In addition, we also have a brand new music video directed by Lynch and arranged by Bear McCreary for a re-rendering of Silent Night featuring the vocal stylings of Raya Yarbrough – one of reportedly five Christmas carols that will be included in the upcoming soundtrack.

SYNOPSIS:

It’s Christmastime, but all is not well in the world of Everly (Salma Hayek). A call girl by trade, Everly has turned against her gangster boss Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe) and become a police informant. In response, Taiko has put out a hit on Everly and her family. Soon, every criminal in town wants to cash in. Everly’s survival instincts quickly kick in as she matches wits and firepower with Taiko and a seemingly endless stream of killers.

Also starring are actors Togo Igawa and Masashi Fujimoto. The film is co-written by Yale Hannon and is produced by Adam Ripp, Rob Paris and Luke Rivett, and co-produced by Brett Hedblom, with action sequences designed by Akihiro “Yuji” Noguchi (Special Forces, Ninja, Travelers).
