Sato Shinsuke’s KINGDOM Unveils Its Brand New Poster

Moviegoers in Japan may be a ways from the theatrical release of Sato Shinsuke’s latest feature, Kingdom, but they’re not being forgotten in the least. That the campaign just rolled out a brand new poster to further entice the already enticed stipulates this and given the ceremony of the film’s international reception per Sony’s acquisition, one hopes we’ll be obliged here stateside very soon. I know I, myself, want this. Peep it:

Set in ancient China during the Warring States Period, the comic ‘KINGDOM’ by Yasuhisa Hara and published by Shueisha tells on a grand scale the tale of a war orphan, Shin who dreams of becoming a great general, and the young king Ei Sei (later the first emperor of Qin) who aims to unite a country. The series began its run within ‘Weekly Young Jump’ magazine in January of 2006 and has since been published into 52 collected volumes selling over 38 million copies (as of October 2018). At long last production has begun on KINGDOM, the live-action period spectacle based on this smash hit comic.

Kingdom stars Yamazaki Kento, Yoshizawa Ryo, Nagasawa Masami, Yoshimoto Kanna, Hongo Kanata, Kaname Jun, Mitsushima Shinnosuke, Takashima Masahiro, Osawa Takao, and many more. The film opens on April 19 in Japan from Toei.
