Schwarzenegger To Lead Hitman Comedy, WHY WE'RE KILLING GUNTHER

Action star, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has seen his fair share of hits and misses in his post-political career, however which way you choose to look at his films since he’s left the Governor’s seat in 2011. Films like zombie thriller, Maggie, proved to be an amazing experience for many next to titles like The Last Stand and Escape Plan in 2013 and David Ayer’s Sabotage a year later while the much lesser-received Terminator: Genisys remains without a future of its own.

Alas, it’s great to see the 68 year-old still doing what he does best on the big screen whilst popping up once in a while on social media to beef up and motivate the bodybuilding lifestyle. His film endeavors currently forsee his next appearance in director Elliott Lester’s forthcoming crime drama, 478 and hopes currently lie in prospects pertaining to his appearances in a new Conan movie and the upcoming Predator film. In the meantime however, it appears he’ll be seuging back into comedy soon enough with word from THR’s Heat Vision blog regarding the new action pic, Why We’re Killing Gunther.
The film sees Schwarzenegger joined by co-star and Saturday Night Live cast member Taran Killam in his directorial debut from his own script which centers on an eccentric team of international assassins who are fed up and obsessed with killing – only to fail at killing – world’s greatest hitman, the ever-elusive Gunther. Also joining are Killam’s wife, actress and Marvel movie alum Cobie Smulders and fellow SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan along with Paul Brittain, Kumail Nanjiani, Randall Park and Ryan Gaul. 
Filming is slated for June with MadRiver Pictures showcasing the film at Cannes this month and StarStream Media financing. Kim Leadford, Killam, Ash Sarohia and Steve Squillante will produce the film with UTA representing its U.S. rights.
