If you’re keeping up count with upcoming Westerns as we head into the new year, feel free to count in director Lawrence Roeck’s latest, Diablo. Actor Scott Eastwood propels the new Western thriller alongside Danny Glover, which earned its praise at this year’s San Diego Film Festival before being acquired by Momentum Pictures and Orion Pictures last month. As such, we now get a trailer now shows plenty of what made the film so worthy. Bearing father Clint Eastwood’s own film legacy in mind, clearly Diablo serves as a suitable successor for genre upon its January 8 theatrical and digital release.
A young Civil War veteran named Jackson wakes up to find his beautiful wife kidnapped by a band of ruthless bandits. With killers around every corner, the lines begin to blur between who the good and the bad are, including Jackson. As a final gunfight looms for our hero and he is asked to risk it all to save the woman he loves, this action-packed western takes twists and turns that will break even the hardest of hearts.
Diablo also stars Camilla Belle, Adam Beach, Joaqim de Almeida and, lest there be a Western without a certain Hateful Eight and Django Unchained co-star, actor Walton Goggins. Catch the trailer now!
