Seth Grahame-Smith To Direct THE FLASH For WB

On the eve of the CW’s second season premiere of its own television iteration of The Flash, writer and author Seth Grahame-Smith is poised to debut in the director’s chair ahead of the forthcoming release of Warner Bros.’s own DCCU installment, according to THR. The news comes long after slowly developing progress toward announcements since the success of Man Of Steel in 2013 and what lies ahead for WB upon the release of next year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Grahame-Smith, best known for his screenwriting credits, including adaptations of his own – the upcoming Pride And Prejudice And Zombies and the 2012 adaptation Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, will direct The Flash from a script treatment by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie) earlier this year. The film will introduce the full-fledged entry of the character with Ezra Miller in the title role inspired by his 1956 comic book debut from Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino, gifted by a random lightining strike in a chemical lab that grants him multiple uses for his ability to run as “the fastest man in the world”.
Miller, who last appeared in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck with Amy Schumer, will ultimately appear in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice on March 25, 2016 before opening The Flash on March 23, 2018 between both Justice League films by then.
