SHERLOCK HOLMES 3 Sets The Game Afoot In 2021

Without a doubt, director Guy Ritchie’s treatment of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes has lended a visual, cinematic appeal between the raw, wry comedic delivery of actors Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Coupling with robust action sequences and fiery, explosive set pieces certainly offered plenty of bang for the buck, and since then it’s been a question of when production on a third installment would move past the writing limbo it’s been stuck in for several years now.

Narcos series co-creator Chris Brancato has since been tapped to pen the next installment as of reports from last May, and now with its previous December 25, 2020 date reset to December 22, 2021 according to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. Downey Jr. and Jude Law, both who have a stake in Disney’s MCU this summer with respective releases of Avengers: Endgame and this Friday’s Captain Marvel, are officially slated to reprise the iconic roles.

The new movie hails once again from Warner Bros. and partnering Village Roadshow Pictures. Both the 2009 and 2011 films from Ritchie together garnered nearly $1.1 billion dollars worldwide, centered on the eccentric supersleuth and his trusty companion, Dr. Watson as they initially foil a notorious attempt by a dark cult to expand the British Empire; The harrowing mission then preceded the sequel’s story where Holmes and Watson face even more imminent danger, pitted against criminal mastermind, Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris.

Co-starring in the franchise thusfar were Mark Strong, Rachel McAdams, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry, Noomi Rapace and Kelly Reilly.
