Loneliness, heartbreak, bitterment – all these and more lend a chilling view into the stoic, brutal mind of the character Leroy Nguyen plays in the new indie gangster drama, Silverback.
Nguyen’s festival circulation with his body of work under his Rising Tiger Films banner continues this November at the Urban Action Showcase, starring as a gangster back from exile and forced to confront betrayal from all ends, as well as the dark corners of his own mind.
Time will tell when acquisiton will be an order for Nguyen’s latest following the Indie Rights release of his earlier feature, Black Scar Blues, which is now available on Amazon; that film came into fruition during the shelved production of Silverback which Nguyen relaunched last year.
Low-rent, hard-fisted hoodlum Richie is a violent loner by nature, yet it is his lady problems that give him the most trouble. When his most recent relationship goes sour, Richie decides to fix what he thinks is broken in his life…the only way he knows how.
