German-Korean actor and martial artist Cha-Lee Yoon will join the cast of Liam O’Donnell’s new movie, Skylines, which is currently in post-production for a fourth quarter 2020 release.

Filming wrapped earlier this summer on the upcoming sci-fi epic directed by Liam O’Donnell who helmed the explosive 2017 hit Skyline follow-up, Beyond Skyline.

Lindsay Morgan leads Yoon and the cast in the new action adventure reprising the role of Captain Rose Corley, gifted from birth as the lynchpin of the human resistance against the brain-snatching aliens that tried to invade Earth in the first two films.

As a side effect to her powers, Corley is forced to take constant blood transfusions to counteract her rapid aging process. Now a fugitive on the run, she is plucked into battle once more with a team of mercenaries as the hybrid alien-humans that make up half the human population are on the verge of turning rogue.

Yoon will play Zhi, an engineer on the ship commanded by Corley. Also joining the cast is actor and action star Daniel Bernhardt (Atomic Blonde, Escape Plan: Devil’s Station) for a character named Owens; Other details are under wraps but I’m told that Zhi and Owens will serve principally in a one of the film’s key fight sequences that will assuredly rouse action fans keen on some martial arts action fare after Beyond Skyline.

For Yoon, the role of Zhi marks a major career move for Yoon who began his career fruition short of a decade ago.

In 2012, the German-born Korean stunt performer partook in the founding of German action unit, Reel Deal Action, applying their craft to up to eight years of mainstream and niche feature action titles. That year, Yoon joined a list of named recipients of the SAG Awards for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture in Sam Mendes’ Skyfall.
