SLAMDANCE 2015: Books Aren't All That Get Cracked Open In The New Trailer For THE LESSON

Ruth Platt’s The Lesson is about to make its way to Slamdance later this month and a trailer is now running for the new suspense thriller. Damien Chazelle’s 2015 award winner, Whiplash is the comparison being made here and though the film currently sits on deck, I can certainly see the tones here that would support the hype. There’s something very thrilling here to look out for and you guys are more than free to watch and see how the trailer below the following announcement sells it.

In the build up to its North American premiere at SLAMDANCE genre specialist Jinga Films has revealed an intense new trailer and poster for Ruth Platt’s debut psychological thriller THE LESSON.

Starring Robert Hands (Shine), THE LESSON follows a bullied school teacher whose mental breakdown results in a terrifying and fiercely intellectual act of revenge on his students.

THE LESSON received its World premiere at FrightFest where critics described it as “a Whiplash for genre fans”. UK distributor Icon Films (It Follows, Babadook) have snapped up UK rights and are now preparing a 2016 release.

THE LESSON will screen at SLAMDANCE at 10:30pm on Saturday, January 23rd and at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 26th – Ballroom at Treasure Mountain Inn – 255 Main Street, Park City, UT 84060.
