STRANGE BUT TRUE Trailer: Tragedy Gives Birth To Intrigue And Upheaval

Wasteland director Rowan Athale taps into teen romance and supernatural mystery with the new mystery thriller, Strange But True. Lionsgate is opening the film in select cities and VoD/Digital on September 6 and is based on the best-selling novel by John Searles.

It’s been five years since high schooler Ronnie Chase died in a tragic accident. But the shock of his death is reignited when his ex-girlfriend, Melissa (Margaret Qualley), visits Ronnie’s mother (Amy Ryan) and brother (Nick Robinson) and tells them she believes she’s pregnant with Ronnie’s child. Ronnie’s family tries to dismiss Melissa’s incredible claim — and is plunged into a web of lies, fears, and unrelenting suspense. Greg Kinnear, Brian Cox, and Blythe Danner costar in this heart-pounding thriller.

Oscar-nominated actress Amy Ryan (2007, Best Supporting Actress, Gone Baby Gone) and actor Greg Kinnear (1997, Best Supporting Actor, As Good as It Gets) star with headliners Nick Robinson (Love, Simon) and Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood), and film vets Blythe Danner (TV’s Will & Grace) and Brian Cox (TV’s Succession).
