Sylvester Stallone Reloads In The New Trailer For THE EXPENDABLES 3!

The action takes center stage in the latest trailer for director Patrick Hughes‘s newest cinematic contribution to the Hollywood action hero brand that aligns old school action vets with a new generation of young guns ready to rock and roll. That particular brand lies in the new film, The Expendables 3, which takes the story to a whole new level of danger that brings back Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Jet Li and Arnold Schwarzenegger with mixed bag of new faces, including Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Kelsey Grammer and Harrison Ford opposite the new lead villain, played by Mel Gibson.

The film also took to a new level of criticism about a month ago when word got out that the third installment was going to be rated PG-13 by the MPAA, essentially breaking tradition from the first two R-rated films as the franchise was meant for the generation of movie lovers who were raised on classically violent actioners of the last four decades. But after a teaser, a roll call trailer, a first trailer and TV spot, we now we have a new trailer that gives us a little more insight about what we can expect from the movie before its release on August 15, courtesy of Lionsgate.

Needless to say, there is not much anyone can do about the PG-13 rating. But the trailer does bring a sense of promise for folks who love a good time at the movies, especially since Hughes is directing next year’s production of The Raid remake which XYZ Films is producing for Screen Gems.

SYNOPSIS:

Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
