TAKE POINT: Don’t Miss The First Teaser For Ha Jung-Woo’s New Thriller

Nearly a year since popping up on our radar at the HK FilMart, Kim Byung-Woo’s Take Point is finally poised for release with a date to be set this December. There’s no exact date but an official teaser is now up and running host to the latest from Ha Jung-Woo who happens to be one of my favorite actors working in film.

On the day of 2024 U.S. presidential election, Ahab and his team of mercenaries working for a private military corporation head to a secret bunker below the Korean DMZ. Their mission, assigned by the CIA, is to abduct Armed Forces Minister of North Korea who is supposed to attend a secret meeting in the bunker. However, things take a turn when North Korea’s Supreme Commander, code name “King”, shows up to Ahab’s surprise. Ahab decides to kidnap the more valuable target “King”, but to his dismay, North Korea suddenly announces that the U.S. has kidnapped “King” and that they would launch a nuclear missile aimed at South Korea within an hour. The situation escalates, and Ahab and his team have only 90 minutes to prevent the outbreak of the Third World War and to save themselves.

The teaser hints at a much more international template for its setting and cast next to the addition of principles Lee Sun-Kyun of A Hard Day and A Special Lady fame, and I Kill Giants actress Jennifer Ehle. CJ Entertainment is hailing its release which likely means a U.S. date announcement is also very much imminent for fans looking forward some tactical espionage thrills to welcome the Holidays. Don’t sleep on this.
