Talyzin Alexey’s SOMETHING FOR NOTHING Delivers Mind-Bending Russian Sci-Fi

Sci-fi fans and geeks may recognize the name, Robert Sheckley, whose works span as far back as the 1950. Specifically, it was his 1952 sci-fi short story, Something For Nothing, that has since paved the way not once, but twice, initially with The Utilizer in the mid-1990s.

This now brings us to the forefront of what Talyzin Alexey has been actively working on in the last few years, and not for nothing either considering the level of ambition now on full display in the trailers for upcoming Something For Nothing sci-fi short. He’s been on a crowdfunding streak off and on for about a year between production and post-production and at the very least, with morsels of footage invoking slick, suspenseful sci-fi noir in its rich, dark and plush visuals.

The plot is built around a financier Max, it falls into the hands of the unit, which may materialize desired, including money. And such a gift of fate caught Max in a difficult period of his life. His deliberately substituted and fired from their jobs, and the only near and dear to his people – the younger sister, fighting for his life with severe disease, the treatment of which requires a large amount of money. It would seem that such a device can only help Max. But it starts to hunt a certain agent, already threatening his life.

Something For Nothing is currently set to arrive later this year. I’m not sure if it will circulate festivals first but if nothing else, that the engine is still running at the official website should satisfy until further notice.

There is a Twitter account but there hasn’t been a Tweet for about four years so I wouldn’t rely on that too much, but I’ll try to keep up on my end unless another site with writers fluent in Russian than I am learn more about this project first.
