You know something, I might be reading too much into it, but there’s at least one split-second shot in the footage above that has me believing we should expect at least one of our dreams to come true in the years since Timo Tjahjanto’s The Night Comes For Us. It’s speculative, frankly, but for now, the trailer for the hit Indonesian horror and action auteur’s newest venture now lands squarely in our sights this week for hitman comedy, The Big 4, which launches on Netflix beginning December 15.
A by-the-book detective investigates the death of her father and follows a clue to a remote tropical island, only to find out his true identity as a leader of a group of assassins. Now hunted by his enemies, she has to team up with the crooks her father had trained – four retired, down-on-their-luck assassins itching to get back in the game.
Tjahjanto directs from a script he wrote with Johanna Wattimena, with a cast led by Abimana Aryasatya, Putri Marino, Arie Kriting, Lutesha, Kristo Immanuel, Marthino Lio, Michelle Tahalea, Budi Ros and Donny Damara. I’ll update this with an English-subbed trailer as soon as one arrives but the one above should suffice as it definitely teases the goods!
