Buy Me A Coffee

Currently in toe for March arrival is The Diary, a new Muay Thai drama now filming in Thailand. Singapore-based Mokster Films is shopping the movie at EFM this week.

Director Nonzee Nimibutr is directing a cast that currently lists ‘Oab’ Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang, and Burmese actress Wutt Hmone Shwe Yi out of Myanmar in her first Thai film role, along with Bront Palarae, and Muay Thai fighter Samart Payakaroon.

The story follows the aftermath of a devastating explosion at a local festival. We meet Tim, a Muay Thai fighter and ex-con imprisoned for his role in the incident, and Jane, a pianist who was since blinded in the explosion, and San, the vengeful daughter of a politician killed in the attack. Romance and redemption bloom between Tim and Jane when their unexpected paths cross, and their shared pain sparks a connection. When Jane needs a cornea transplant, Tim endeavors back into the treacherous underground arena knowing it could cost him his life.

Nimibutr reunites with his Once Upon A Star scribe Ek Lemchuen (Ong Bak 2). Kanyanan Worasan and Natchapon Purikananond are producing. Below is a first look at the film presented by Screendaily‘s Silvia Wong via Mokster, along with the inaugural sales art.
