The Divine Fury

Lotte Entertainment

Last year’s American Film Market saw some terrific strides for sales outlet Lotte Entertainment whose Fall packaging of Jason Kim’s new thriller, The Divine Fury, pre-sold to multiple territories. It wrapped production last Fall marking the latest reunion for Kim and his Midnight Runners star, actor Park Seo-Joon (The Chronicles Of Evil) who plays a martial arts champion imbued by divine powers to battle powerful evil force, a thrilling setup for what we now get to sample in the first teaser ahead of its summer release.

Yong-hu, a world champion martial artist who believes in no God, only himself, suddenly develops stigmata on his palms.

Visiting a church in hopes of healing the stigmata, he ends up saving Father AHN, who falls into danger while performing an exorcism. In this way he learns of the power of the stigmata. As time passes Yong-hu accepts his new calling and begins saving people who are possessed by demons, but then he must prepare for a final confrontation with the evil Jisin, who ensnares people with the power of the devil.

Rounding out the main cast are Ahn Sung-Ki whose credits include Lee Myung-Se’s brutal crime pic, Nowhere To Hide, Ryoo Seung-Wan’s phenomenal action hit, Arahan, Jo Bum-Gu’s The Divine Move, and actor Woo Hwan-Do in a major villain role following co-starring roles in Cho Ui-Seok’s Master and John H. Lee’s Operation Chromite.
