Lionsgate has acquired Kenji Tanigaki’s new movie, The Furious. The film’s distribution space will be worldwide with a day-and-date theatrical release aligned with China, Hong Kong and Macao.
The Furious stands to be one of the more exciting titles of the new year following festival screenings in Toronto and Bucheon, and a recent sold-out event screening at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles. Below is an abridgement from its programming last month:
An ordinary tradesman, Konggu, faces his worst nightmare when his daughter is brutally kidnapped. With the help of a tenacious journalist, Navin, he plunges headlong into Bangkok’s seedy underworld—a relentless maze of criminal empires and corrupt operatives.
