THE HIT LIST: April 15, 2019

It’s been a productive two weeks with some time to focus a little more on myself and overall news production, but indeed it’s high time to bring some talent into the limelight and that’s what The Hit List is here for once more!

Clockwise from top left: Miriam Macip, Lewis Tan, Lexie Kay, Travis Stanton-Marrero, Gabriella Corvina, Leroy Nguyen, Rissy Dollins, Dani Medina, Caitlin Dechelle, Joey Min.

You’ll find actor and martial artist Lewis Tan back in the habit with season 3B of Into The Badlands in its finishing run. His action teaser is the first to kick off the first round of stunt action and training reels for the first playlist followed by reels from Patrick Chan, Michelle Fisichella, Gary Cothenet, David Armstrong, Marissa Dollins, John Palmeri, Hymnson Chan, Lexie Kay, Travis Stanton-Marrero, A.J. Gagliardi, Hannah Landberg, Yasushi Sakai, Michael Bekemeier, Miriam Macip, Tony Christian, Kate Angus and Anthony Giovanni Elias. The playlist finishes out on a high note with reels from stunt coordinators Brad Martin and John Kreng, and a lookback tribute reel by the inspired gang over at Martial Club.

At least one promotional bit comes our way courtesy of Jackie Tran who looks like he has a My Hero Academia-inspired project heading out in May. Check out his Instagram post from Monday:

Normally there are some more promotional bits to tend to but there don’t seem to be any this week, so it’s off to the last of the lot which comprise of some of the best of online independent action. Beware kicks things off via Vimeo from the good folks over at Distinctive Light before we jump into the following playlist with some longsword beats by Jon Beal and Kai Young of JK Films, and the latest offering from KevSoVideos.

Rustic B. and Tim Neff cut loose with some stop-motion Mortal Kombat action while Frappe Mortelle Productions returns with a new group practice fight by Ermias Baraki and Hector Soria, and the aforementioned Lewis Tan’s own sword coach, martial artist and stunt performer Caitlin Dechelle brings the receipts to a couple of gym stud-wannabes portrayed by actors Jordan Tracka and Beau Casper Smart.

Gabriella Corvina offers up a pair of new gems from her YouTube channel also featuring Leticia Esparza, and with Billie D. Merritt, Jo Lorio, Maya DeBruce and Liza Janette Wilk. Afterwards, it’s Dani Medina over in Madrid with Rey Rodriguez for a Punisher-inspired action concept, followed by a redo of an LBP Stunts Chicago gem with Alex Hashioka, Nate Hitpas, Tony Vittorioso and Micah Karns, and Kamen Ramen with Dana Fey and Michael Carey for a retooling of Mortal Kombat’s Sonya vs. Kano.

Next up is Entony Ruscetta, Alyson Pickett and Maxime Coulon get together for some indie action screentime with Ben Van Huis lensing, while director Josh Aries pokes fun at Filipino tropes in Tsinelas, and Chintya Candranaya puts up some samurai action for fans. Last and far from least is a double dose of Yes, Auntie! with the last two episodes of the series featuring stellar action performances by star and director Joey Min with Stephanie Pham, Angela Jordan, Leroy Nguyen, and hard-hitting Hong Kong cinema legend Robert Samuels.

Enjoy the hits!
