2019 was an emotional rollercoaster of highs and lows. The high were relatively a given with the amount of talent on display for The Hit List column, and so it’s my honor and privilege to present the final installment of The Hit List for the year until its return in January, TBD!
Saori Izawa leads off the final round of stunt reels to kick off The Hit List, followed by reels featuring Talin Chat, Nykki McGee, Sean Rhee, C.C. Trailer content also makes a quick return to the Hit List, and so it’s with great pleasure I share the teaser trailer for this Assassination Classroom-inspired short from Nick Shaw and Re:Anime, featuring Jackie Tran and Brandon Soo Hoo. Following that is a trailer for fake movie, The Big Gift, stylized accordingly by Jarrod Crooks for his entry per the parameters of Rustic B.’s holiday Fight Scene Challenge this year!
Sarah Dawud leads the way to start things off in action-packed fashion over at the Izzasan YouTube channel just before Istanbul Stunt Team throws in some seasons’ beatings of their own, and Emmanuel Manzanares peppers up the fun with some fight scene pre-viz action for season two of Titans.
Björn Hellquist returns to the Hit List opposite Lars Lundgren from the Stuntskolan channel, while Mike Moeller and Lucienne Vollbrecht face off as Santa and his Elf against Alexaneder Mack as the Grinch, oddball post-production shenanigans bombard a climatic fight scene for Godefroy Ryckewaert and Maxime Ecoiffier in Booms and Blades, and Marie Mouroum and Amadei Weiland test the balance of the force in Lorenz Hideyoshi Ruwwe’s Dark Jedi.
The aforementioned Mattias Tor’s short, Patriot, arrives online just before we reconvene with Devin Graham and Caleb Chan venturing into a world of Parkour thrills in Uzbekistan, Martial Club’s Andy Le delivers substance over style in Ip Man: The Intercepting Fist, and Chintya Candranaya hones in on her pugilistic skills in Miss Evil Jahat.
