THE HIT LIST: December 9, 2019

The Hit List
“Life” by Amy Sturdivant

With 2019 winding down, there’s only one more Hit List to go after this, and I am thoroughly impressed to see such amazing work going into the holidays.

Nilly Masa Cetin is first in our usual jam-packed stunt reel playlist to kick off the December 9 installment and I certainly hope to see more of her on YouTube going forward. Paul Pedersen continues the playlist with his own reel followed by entries from Jonathan Henry, Rié Yoshida, Daniel Rivera, Caleb Evans, Mizziel Serra, Kevin Ku, Liam Bailey, Bronwyn Akhurst, Jordan Thoma, Dillon Burns, Lauren Pugh, Jason Lee Bell, Alex Bankier, Cami Wickenhauer, Justin Sysum and Yann Brouet, with a spectacular choreography and performance reel by Nop Brothers – Daren and David, and an extensive, highly warranted display of cinematic action, stunts and stunt coordination by Filipino heavy hitter Sonny Sison.

The trailers are definitely where it’s at and first up, we have Rustic B. back and announcing another seasonal Fight Scene Challenge. Peep the promo for instructions, and regulations and more, and watch as the playlist loads up Godefroy Ryckewaert’s latest promo for this year’s Light This Location award-winner, The Collector, Aaron Toney’s long-awaited conceptual proof, Throne, which could come as soon as January, and Martial Club’s upcoming kung fu fan short, Ip Man: The Intercepting Fist.

Time to wrap it up with the Fights And Films segment and starts with a pair of CombatWorks fight vids from Brennan Basset’s channel, followed by Kefi Abrikh’s own Gunchaku concept and Andrew Franklin’s latest vid with Caitlin Hutson and Amy Sturdivant.

We continue with a pair of pre-viz action sequences by Emmanuel Manznares for Claudia Myer’s summer 2019 romance drama, Above The Shadows, 87Eleven’s David Leitch making his Hit List debut with Snowbrawl, Angela Jordan and Owen Hu demonstrating the goods with Macho brand Sparring Gear, Norwegian stunt group Stuntskolan with The Mission, Kyle Murillo’s new Deku-inspired My Hero Academia fan film featuring Omar Zaki, the aforementioned Ms. Sturdivant’s wasteland action short, Life, and Pau Han Kho’s decorated steampunk kung fu indie, Steam.

From there, it’s part three of Matt Philliben’s Gentlemen and Violence III: Heart Of Vengeance, with the latest Batman Beyond fan film from Re:Anime following suit, as well as Bat In The Sun’s new Superpower Beat Down starring Tatyana Neva’s Black Widow and Tess Kielhamer’s Black Canary, Angelo Licata’s Star Wars-inspired fan film concept, Dark Resurrection: Keepers Of The Force, Ryan Polly’s Pizza Time with Ben Worley and Eric Jacobus, and Bryan Sloyer’s latest sci-fi hard-hitting actioner, Heart System.

Enjoy the hits!
