THE HIT LIST: January 28, 2019

One of these weekends I’m just gonna have to steal one for myself if I can help it. (P.S. – Literally be ready for anything when riding New York City transit. And I mean anything.)

Clockwise from top left: Maya Mac, Ronin Skai, Marie Maroelle, Sean Baker, Jennifer Li, LeRoyal Tutt, Meghan Deanna Smith, Adam Ciesielski, Gabrielle Corvina, Johnny Fujikawa

Going forward, this week’s Hit List will definitely help push some things out there that can use an audience and we begin with our usual raft of stunt and action reels from some of today’s top and talented stunt performers – starting with Bethel Lindsley with an extended intro into her training and insight on her aspiration to start.

Following that is Ingel Catindig who first came on my radar during my first year founding my my blog when I got to watch the musical action comedy, Battle B-Boy. Jonny Caines and Sierra Barrett keep the momentum going followed by entries from Dylan Rickenbacker, Cyrus Leisy, Alyson Pickett, Justin Torrance, Sebastian Pavon, Yasmin Pascall, Adam Ciesielski, Johnny Fujikawa, Zhanna Sattsaeva and Turkey-based Yalova Action Team at RS Entertainment.

This next playlist hosts a pair of projects that will surely be a joy to watch and begin with a teaser for the February 1 premiere of miniseries, One Way Out. The series marks the launch of Aneux Studios with a cast that includes Ronin Skai, Micah Thompson, and Sean Baker.

The second comes from Jason Cavalier Lebeouf who graced me with an opportunity to look at a truly epic piece of work he starred in from director Raphaël Hébert. Past And Future Kings is the name and plays out a harrowing tale about a king in pursuit of limitless power who then endures the ultimate test of his own resolve when that very power becomes his own.

It really was one of the best shortfilms I’d ever seen and I never got a chance to review it. Needless to say, I highly recommend you keep your schedule free on February 4 when this one airs.

It’s time to fight! Why? Because Nate Hitpas and Ruben Maldonado say so! They’re in the first vid kicking off the Fights And Films playlist of the week followed by DC Stunt Coalition throwdown in the dark with Dylan Hintz and Abra Burkett, a group choreo practice vid led by Sam Akel and created by Vlad Rimburg and Travis Wong, Robert Steven Brown throwin’ down with Steve Huff, Jonas Grosserhode, Tripp Pickell and Jarrell Hall, Xavier LeBlanc with a few minutes of practice action by Stefan Sneed and Christopher James Green, Jennifer Li getting some action directing in of her own with Maya Mac with Marie Maroelle, a Dragons Forever re-enactment featuring Euri Sakamoto with Bruce and James Inaba, Blais Guzman and Matt Healey in a superhero battle concept by David Lavallee Jr., and the most recent red-band full fight scene from the newly released U.K. action thriller, Nightshooters with Jean-Paul Ly and Hung Dante Hong.

Veto Swarn, Dan Masterson and Hayden Lam front our latest reaquaintance with Brazen Action Design to start the year along with some brisk bar scene pre-viz action by Eric Linden and the team behind the action of this year’s second season of Marvel’s The Punisher, Reza Hilman and Restu Prahadia go toe-to-toe for a bit in a vid of their own, and actor and filmmaker LeRoyal Tutt returns to the Marvel fold for a second time as Miles Morales in the second of two Raidant Spider-Man fan films, also starring Meghan Deanna Smith, Justin Chavers and Emily Wilson.

Finishing things off is Ely Bams’ new dramatic assassin thriller, Butterfly, starring Gabrielle Corvina.

Enjoy the hits!
