THE HIT LIST: June 29, 2020

Nick Bateman as Gambit in PLAY FOR KEEPS, dir. Jensen Noen (YouTube Screengrab)

I’ve been doing The Hit List for about five-and-a-half years, and so I can’t help but consider the timely fashion in which I’ve managed to help catalogue a library of my own through the support and endorsement of filmmakers and indie action cinema creatives alike.

If The Hit List has done anything for you, personally since then, or even from the start of this crazy year what with a pandemic and so much unrest, feel free to comment at me on Facebook or Twitter if you’d like to share some blurbs. Otherwise, there’s more to share this week, so let’s get to it!

Jérémy Margallé kicks off the stunt reel playlist just below, followed by reels courtesy of Seth Frase, Jess Blaq, Brandon Yates, Eric Linden, Rufio Luey, Jennifer Mitchell, Luke Davis, Oscar Fernandez, Andrea VanEpps, Dimitri Melenevskiy and Sofia Mathilde, followed by reels from Joon Poore’s JP Stunts, and highlights by the stylists over at SuperAlloy Interactive.

I don’t have any trailers to present, so we’ll just cut straight to the action, and that’s where Shawn Bernal comes in, with pair of his own practice fights: Seperate Ways with Brian Jansa and Mario Sanchez, and No Money, No Pride, with himself, and performers Dominique Smith and Tony Vittorioso.

Mike Moller goes vaudeville with wrestler Lucian Roucka in a bit of Slapstick, followed by some pre-viz action from Alexey Minaev‘s YouTube channel, and another comedic kung fu sidebar from the dudes over at Martial Club who apparently watch too much Bruce Lee!

Godefroy Ryckewaert pits Lohan Buson against the Coron’apocalypse with Maureen Layover, Thomas Lorber wages vengeance against Maxime Coulon in Midnight Ransom, Muhd Luke Alexander etches another fan made chapter in Star Wars with Legend Of Hope, Nick Bateman is out to Play For Keeps in Jensen Noen’s spectacular Gambit fan film, and Leroy Nguyen tackles life and loss as a lovelorn gangster in a short-duration cut of the longawaited action drama, Silverback.

Enjoy the hits!
