THE HIT LIST: March 18, 2019

I’m inclined to blame Google for why this week’s installment of The Hit List almost didn’t happen seeing as how they’ve been having some serious YouTube issues in the last few weeks. Rocky roads this weekend. Ugh…

Clockwise from top left: Claire Hoogenboom, Robert Samuels, Stephanie Pham, Hector Soria, Colby Lemmo, Nathaniel Ingle, Xanthia Marinelli, Joey Min, Anna Akimova, Ed Tunningley

Anyhoo, time to go forth and showcase some impressive stunt talent beginning with New York City-based Ai Ikeda, followed by stunt and action reels from Michael Laricchia, Jared Kirby, Caitlin Dechelle, Amanda Voll, Xanthia Marinelli, Aaron Field, Colby Lemmo, Anna Akimova, Riley Rios, Jarrell Hall and Nicoletta Hanssen.

This week’s promotional gems are but one and still worthy of a mention as the official Indiegogo runs for Afro Samurai Champloo. Those familiar with the recent posts of one Team Red Productions featuring Robin Calvo and Tarrell Bullock in the respective roles of Mugen from Samurai Champloo, and the titular Afro Samurai may take a liking to what’s in store as shown in their latest camapign video hosted by Team Red’s Joseph Le, writer Minh Huynh and Quiktastic’s Lauren Grant.

Ed Tunningley and Nathaniel Ingle kick off the fisticuffs and fight action to bookend this week’s installment courtesy of Lisa Connell and Christos Dante at CombatWorks, followed by a trio of pre-viz and practice fight gems from Alexey Minaev‘s YouTube channel, and a blistering action demo from filmmaker Ken Dinh and featuring Ip Man 3 co-star Simon Kook.

Frappe Mottelle‘s Ermias Baraki brings you some impromptu fight action with Eric Fuchs and Marcus Grant while Dom Fred invites to you both sides of the lens in a video reupload with Johnny X Wang and Antonio Robert Cortes, K Dynamique‘s Malik Bouabid pays a visit to Miami to shoot some parking lot action with Kawui Joa and Luis Fernandez, and Cameron Early calls in for the rent as Claire Hoogenboom squares off with Ken Arata.

Jimmy Chhiu and Alvin Hsing lay the framework in a previz action scene for the spectacular finale in S.S. Rajinikanth’s 2.0, while Gabriel Berlotti hosts Allie Perez’s newest St. Patrick’s Day shortfilm, The Leprechaun Hunt, and Jack Zheng and Terry Li get some work in with parking lot short, Fight Or Flight just before we segue over to Pinoia Filmes with a trio of their own mixing up the styles.

Rounding out the playlist is the newest, must-see episode of Yes, Auntie! from Art School Dropouts, and the long-awaited, hard-hitting episode of the spectacular fan series, Power Rangers: Unworthy.

On that note, enjoy the hits!
