THE HIT LIST: March 4, 2019

I actually had a lot to do this weekend – some of which I almost didn’t get done… this week’s installment of The Hit List being one of them. Alas, here we are!

Clockwise from top left: Pingi Moli, Marlo Marolle, Matt Mullins, Jennifer Li, Joey Min, Erin Wu, Austin Maxwell, Thekla Hutyrova, Steffen Jung and Julia Maggio

Julia Maggio is here to get things started for the action reels playlist this week followed by the latest in stunt and demo gems from Josh Fried, Talin Chat, Ali Al-Azawi, Erin Wu, Paul Hampshire, Danny Darwin, Austin Maxwell, Olivia Summers, ‘Enelē Ma’afu Tauteoli, Steffen Jung, Kenny Waymack Jr., Shawn Marie Koo, Pingi Moli, Jose Pacheco, and some astute stunt and fight choreography by the one-and-only Matt Mullins!

Time to promote some stuff, and thus, we have a first look at Trent Dickens’ upcoming short, Panda, which bodes as one of the most trippy, existential crime dramas you’ll possibly ever see. The tease comes ahead of the full trailer on Friday, and just beneath is a teaser for Bryan Sloyer’s upcoming online indie action entry, Arthur, which we also teased last week.

No other promo gems this week, but… I’m definitely gonna lend some eyes to these vids to kick back and relax to with PeiPei Alena Yuan and Caitlin Dechelle. No description needed.

Time to do some fightin’ this week and in this playlist, there’s plenty of it – starting with a slice of Vimeo fun courtesy of Tochi Osuji with Dylan Hintz and actress Micheline Wu in Nancy Drew & The Case of the Missing Food at Feirstein.

The following playlist begins with a few seconds of anime-flavored bits by Evan Dane Taylor and David Armstrong, some jewels from performers Marlo Marolle and Jennifer Li, and Joseph Le as he beats the streets with performers Dominique Smith and Josh Chavez. Max Kinder and Angie Holmes get their CombatWorks film fighting on from Lisa Connell and Christos Dante, and PTK Orlando’s Adam Ciesielski and his team get it in with some Karambit fight choreo bits.

Gabrielle Corvina returns to The Hit List in She’s Got My Back, also featuring one of our site’s favorites, Thekla Hutyrova. Also making an encore is Amanda McLeod in film fighting fashion with Mark Curtis Ferrando and Andrew Tippie with lensing by Ken Arata, as well as Edwin Quinones in a pit sesh from Ballistic Blade Entertainment with John Satberry.

Barret Coastes and Luke Rayn engage Ritual Reality with David Semery and their film collective in Shanghai with Phillip Witana helming, and a stellar line-up of stunt players also resurface to the Hit List once more with some Power Rangers film pre-viz assembled by none other than performer and choreographer Aaron Toney. Afterwards, Craig Canning and Nick Khan settle up in Raw Deal from Matthew Wood, and Jackie Tran rises in Avatar: Rise Of The Airbender from DoYu Productions.

Next up is a trio from Distinctive Light Entertainment starting with John Santiago as he takes on a horde of Ninja Zombies, and a racousing action comedy in which a house full of kids show a group of would-be home invaders who’s really in charge in Losers, and a reshare of another DLE shortfilm favorite, Bang Bang with Johnny Junyi Gao and Felix Betancourt.

Director Blake Ridder takes a few inches off the top with Barry He, Ling Whye Hang and Linda Louise Duan in Barber Fight, and rounding it all out is the third and latest episode of Art School Dropouts’ new webseries, Yes, Auntie!: My Asian Auntie Season 2 (be sure to sub for new episodes rolling out every Thursday).

And on that note, enjoy the hits!
