THE HIT LIST: May 4, 2020

YouTube Screengrab/Ashley Beck

The last several days have been a bit of a drag but I’m looking toward easing myself back into posting norms, and as always, The Hit List is a good motivator!

Renae Moneymaker is here to help get the party started with her latest reel to begin the playlist below, followed by Alexey Minaev, Thomas P.R. Watson, Cyril Tellier, Kaitlin Abendroth, Mykola Galagan, Daniele Balconi, Céline Richard, Micaiah Chau, Silvio Gamboa, Fatih Ugurlu, Xanthia Marinelli, Andy Taylor, Kenny Lorenzetti, and Kyro Wavebourne, followed by an awesome parkour medley from Gurpreet Rawat, and an extensive look into the work of stunt coordinator Lauro Chartrand.

Moving along with a little something to promote is the first official poster for Dogma, from Wuji Films. The project is a personal proclamation from Manitoba-based Joshua Zacharias and Bronson Cameron, and tells an inspired throwback story about a young Chinese American forced to deal with enemies on all sides during one of America’s biggest spikes in Chinese immigration history within New York City’s Chinatown.

The project also has Wuji familiars Anthony Javier and Jon Wei Jun and a teaser trailer is undoubtedly in the works since the project’s launch last December.

The fighting commences with a hearty playlist of practice action and short films, featuring entries by Tolga Degirmen, SAGA Action Arts’s Dylan Hintz and Abra Burkett, and a pair of vids by the good folks over at Pirates Project Stunt Team. John Cihangir shares a proof of concept short titled Sci-Fi Physics, as does Ashley Beck who directs Tea Time with Tom Rodgers and Anton Simpson-Tidy, while Art School Dropouts shares a snippet of one of their recent collaborations with Rising Tiger Films’s Leroy Nguyen, and Koji Kawamoto shows off his latest group practice action gems from his own YouTube channel.

Following that is a stellar quartet of quarantine fight challenge videos firstly by Fred Nguyen with Facetime Fury, an electrifying entry making headlines from actress Amy Johnston’s channel with #BossBitchChallenge courtesy of Zoe Bell, a round of hard-hitting relays from Aaron Gassor’s channel for The Ultimate Isolation Fight Challenge, and a second, spectacular round of Aaron Toney‘s own Quarantine Fight Challenge from a few weeks ago.

Freelance Fighters head off to a galaxy far far away with Star Wars fan film, Workforce, while Mark Stas makes his debut with award-winning martial arts drama At The Edge, Silver Harvest engages the niche with their latest breakthrough, Dragon Of The Law, and last and far from least is a twenty-minute medley of martial arts action fisticuffs featuring Peter Pham.
