THE HIT LIST: November 26, 2018

It’s been a hell of a year. There are definitely a few things I want to share in that regard and will do in another post going into December.

Clockwise from top left: Jisaura Cardinale, Chris Schmidt Jr., Dina Cataldi, Timothy Flood, Krystle Martin, A.J. Gagliardi, PeiPei Alena Yuan, William Spencer, Sara VonGillern, Kevin R. James

In the meantime, we have another installment of the Hit List with plenty of online gems to count and we begin with an inspirational jewel from actress, martial artist and filmmaker Maria Tran who is currently in tow with a female-fronted doc about stuntwomen in Asia. The playlist continues with entries from Andy Whitmarsh, Klem Kaan, Chris Schmidt Jr., A.J. Gagliardi, Chelsea Goldsmith, Josh Madison, Kevin R. James, Timothy Flood, Geneviève Doang, Shane D.R. Alson, Michael Laricchia, Jacob Pattison and Marian Sing, with direction and coordination reels by Kefi Abrikh, Marques Zaror and Czech Action Crew.

Just a little more on the aforementioned Kevin R. James who appears to have a shortfilm project in the works called The Prodigies Production – centered on a team of young individuals who take it upon themselves to make professional level content, on a low budget… That’s it. That’s the plot, and we have a teaser and clip below to help connect with James via YouTube and Instagram.

Taking a small break from the fight stuff for a bit is a late entry with a lovely little homage to Back To The Future hailed by PeiPei Alena Yuan via her channel, and also featuring Sara VonGillern, and Two Bellmen shortfilm series star William Spencer honing in on his own McFly-inspired stunt stylings. (And of course, Huey Lewis & The News) This one’s a twofer and you can view the first half by clicking here with the second just below!

Team Yas is on deck with two recent practice action vids, firstly featuring alpha female Zia Kelly in a brief little two-on-one, and a glossy little samurai gem starring actor Yamaguchi Masa.

…And onward we go with the playlist of the week to continue the action, starting with George Karja’s latest offering from LK Stunt Team, and a reprisal from Claire Hoogenboom with Colby Lemmo for director/cinematographer Josh Fried. Following that is David Lavallee Jr.’s Filmstro & Film Riot One Minute Shortfilm Contest entry, Wrath, Art School Dropouts touching base once more with stunt performers Angela Jordan and DL McDonald, and Mikko Löppönen’s The Divorce starring Saara Inari and Jesse Liskola.

Last and far from least is the latest project signaling producer Adi Shankar’s Bootleg Universe as he ramps up a slate of projects under the banner. Hence the release of Powerpuff Girls: The Long Way Back from director Steven LaMorte, and starring Dina Caltaldi, Jisaura Cardinale and Krystle Martin as our respective heroines based on Craig McCracken’s highly popular creations serialized on Cartoon Network.

Enjoy!

The Hit List may go dark some time in December while I try and slow down a bit toward the Holidays. It’s been a busy year promoting independent action cinema and the world’s unrelenting stunt talents and authentic creatives, and I look toward sharing the spotlight for these artists in the coming year.

I’ll be sure to post an announcement on my Instagram page IF things get overloaded on my end, so stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to peep at last week’s Hit List entries, sub to the channels and SHARE The Hit List with friends. And, if you or someone you know has a kickass stunt reel or a cool new project that suits today’s action cinema audience, hit us up at filmcombatsyndicate@gmail.com!
