Kate Bosworth Sci-Fi Series, THE I-LAND, Heads To Netflix
Netflix

Lining up their serial slate on Netflix with a raft of titles this week, the streaming service announced a trio of projects up for the taking. The I-Land is especially one of them with actresses Kate Bosworth and Natalie Martinez, and actor Alex Pettyfer cast for roles.

When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home. They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the island’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones.

Bosworth (The Long Road Home, Still Alice) stars as KC with Martinez (The Crossing, APB, Secrets and Lies, Under the Dome) portraying Chase, and Pettyfer (Magic Mike, I Am Number Four, The Strange Ones, Elvis & Nixon) as Brody.

The series hails from Nomadic Pictures Entertainment with Bosworth serving as producer. Neil LaBute (Billy & Billie, Van Helsing) will pen the seven-episode project with co-exec producer Lucy Teitler (Mr. Robot), and will serve to showrun, and to direct with co-exec producer Jonathan Scarfe (Van Helsing). Chad Oakes (Fargo, Hell On Wheels) and Mike Frislev (Van Helsing, Wu Assassins) are executive producers.

LaBute previously served on multiple stage plays during his 15-year tenure at New York City’s MCC Theater before parting ways with the Off-Broadway venue back in February.
