The New OKJA Poster Shows A Bond Gripped By Corporate Blight

While Snowpiercer helmer Bong Joon-Ho’s latest Cannes In-Competiton entry, Okja, may be far from hitting French theater outlets this year, Netflix consumers will still have their chance to catch the new adventure with Ahn Seo-Hyeon leading the cast for a compelling coming-of-age epic. Quite a bit of this has already been sampled in a few teasers this season while we now have an official poster going viral which you can view below.

From visionary Director Bong Joon Ho, this grand global adventure follows a friendship too big to ignore. Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named Okja. Following her across continents, the coming-of-age comedy drama sees Mija’s horizons expand in a way one never would want for one’s children, coming up against the harsh realities of genetically modified food experimentation, globalization, eco-terrorism, and humanity’s obsession with image, brand and self-promotion.

Actress Tilda Swinton (Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Snowpiercer) reunites with Bong and is back and priming the corporate villain role once more. Also starring are Paul Dano, Jake Gyllenhaal, Steven Yeun and Lily Collins for the film’s June 28 airing on Netflix.
