Hopefully you haven’t dropped the ball on writer and director Afonso Poyart’s upcoming U.S. release of the Brazilian hit crime pic, 2 Coelhos (Two Rabbits). It’s the latest in the director’s foray into more higher-caliber projects with a certain knack for tapping into the tonal luster of specific stories, and here and now with a dazzling array of brutal kicks to the head in the new teaser for the upcoming biopic, Mais Forte Que O Mundo: A História De José Aldo (Stronger Than The World: The Story Of José Aldo).
Brazilian soap star Jose Loreto stars in the title role inspired by the life and legend of the real-life mixed-martial arts fan favorite underdog and number one pound-for-pound Featherweight champion with actress Cleo Pires starring as Aldo’s wife, Vivianne. The film, announced initially in 2011 and featuring debut fight choreography by Renan Medeiros, has backing by the UFC following its production several months ago and is now on deck for a release in Brazil’s theater circuit by early 2016, and the teaser itself, accompanied by the vocal stylings of Lorde, offers something quite glistening and visceral that fans can look forward to, especially to those in his native Manaus.
