The Revolution Begins In The New Trailer For ATTACK ON TITAN: PART 1

It’s been a great week of fandom for netizens in the wake of trailers for the world of sci-fi and fantasy. The same can certainly be said for the world of live-action anime adventures in lieu of director Higuchi Shinji‘s newest spectacle, Attack On Titan which presented its teaser a month ago to the delight of many as it is the first of a twofer with the second airing this September

Even more so, fans in Japan and those who can access Japanese streaming video service, dTV will surely enjoy the forthcoming live action series which will bridge both films using a mixture of cast members from the movies and exclusively for the series. It’s no mistake to suggest that the excitement will only increase with the amount of popularity the Attack On Titan franchise has earned since its launch several years ago in ink and on television. It’s a phenomenon, and one that most people will have no issues partaking in this Summer and Fall.

SYNOPSIS:

The sudden arrival of the Titans—mysterious, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour human beings one after the other—brings mankind to the brink of extinction. Fast-forward more than 100 years later. What remains of the human population now live in relative peace behind massive walls that were erected to defend themselves against the Titans. Yet once again, that peace is shattered when a Titan measuring over 50 meters tall smashes through the wall, allowing a horde of other Titans to enter.

The protagonist, Eren, had been resigned to a life confined behind these walls. Nothing I do would make a difference, he thought. But when he joins the “Outer Wall Restoration Team” set up to fight against the Titans, he is reunited with Mikasa, a childhood friend and someone he had long rued not being able to save. The new recruits embark on a mission to obtain explosives, which had become rare and precious, before getting past the waves of Titans to plug the gaping hole in the wall, with humanity’s survival on the line. Will there be a future for Eren and Mikasa, and for mankind itself?

Attack On Titan: Part 1 arrives in August and stars Miura Haruma, Mizuhara Kiko, Kanata Hongo, Miura Takahiro, Sakuraba Nanami and Ishihara Satomi, with Hasegawa Hiroki, Matsuo Satoru, Pierre Taki, Kunimura Jun, Watanabe Shu, Misaki Ayame and Takeda Rina.
