Tony Jaa And Stunt Coordinator Joel Kramer On The Set Of FAST AND FURIOUS 7

On Monday, action star Tony Jaa, accompanied by close friend David Ismalone, took time to share more photos on Jaa’s official Facebook page, including the one you see below with Jaa on the right hand side of Fast And Furious 7 stunt coordinator, Joel Kramer.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Fast And Furious 7 marks Kramer‘s return to the franchise since performing stunts for the 2001 film, The Fast And The Furious, under director Rob Cohen with leads Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. The film also marks Kramer‘s fourth return to the set with director James Wan since working on ths 2007 gritty revenge thriller, Death Sentence, followed by the recent theatrical releases of The Conjuring, and Wan’s horror sequel, Insidious: Chapter 2.
This is important to note, with the mixed messages that tend to occur online, which in this case may confuse some people between Joel Kramer and J.J. Perry, the latter who is currently still in Bulgaria taking care of things with the cast and crew of The Expendables 3 with director Patrick Hughes. It’s also important to highlight this considering the body of work that Kramer has done over the years, which include a number of Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, namely Red Heat (1988), Total Recall (1990), Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1992), Last Action Hero (1993) and True Lies (1994). Other credits as stunt coordinator also include Cliffhanger (1993), The Negotiator (1998), Collateral (2004) and the upcoming February 7, 2014 release of RoboCop from director José Padilha.
Aside from the Jaa working with Kramer for the first time, we do not yet really know how Wan’s “gritty, ’70s revenge thriller” approach will bode for this seventh installation of the Fast And Furious ennealogy. But there is a lot of experience here to account for to support Kramer‘s credentials as Wan‘s main choice for the stunts and action in this upcoming thrill ride. So it will be continually interesting to see how Jaa blends with Hollywood in this aspect.
For anyone particularly new to James Wan for an action reference, I personally recommend Death Sentence just to get a head start. Click HERE to view the trailer, and look for it wherever DVDs and movies are sold.
Fast And Furious 7 roars into theaters on July 11, 2014 from Universal Pictures.
