When the amazing folks in the corner of international action hero and Tom Yum Goong 2 star Tony Jaa are not busy making feature length films, they are following through with their own short projects on their own time. And this week’s release of Jaa’s latest new action short, The Last Seal is no different. Directed by David Ismalone and also starring actress and wife Yuraluck Ismalone, The Last Seal gives Jaa fans a new look unlike anything we have seen in his previous films, dressed in tactical gear and branding a gun, as well as the usual signature martial arts moves that comes with the package.
In sum, The Last Seal makes for a pretty adequate previewing of the kind of roles we might expect to see Jaa in films from here on out, especially now that he has advanced his career into English speaking territory for Hollywood with films like Skin Trade and Fast And Furious 7 on the way. I should also add that the shortfilm is far from anything completely serious, considering its charismatically humourous ending. David Ismalone also directed an exhilarating new action packed Bulletproof Films produced short film which, for some reasons I cannot ascertain went under my radar. The shortfilm titled Sleep Walker/Killer, also sees Yuraluck in the lead pulling off an impressive contained action thriller with amazing stuntwork and choreography to boot. Executive produced by Mike Selby, the short film was unveiled on Selby’s Vimeo channel several weeks ago, through which you can view the embed below.
