TRIPLE FRONTIER Trailer: This Is No Military Operation…

A harrowing mission awaits five men looking for a grand steal in the official trailer now online for director J.C. Chandor’s new crime thriller, Triple Frontier. For this, you could even say the road to the film’s completion was equally enduring at best – once housed at Paramount back in 2010 and serving as the starting point for a marathon development period that lasted eight years.

With Kathryn Bigelow opting for the helm, years of limbo ensued with a revolving casting door that saw the likes of Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy, and Oscar-winning actors Casey Affleck and Mahershala Ali. By last summer and with the film then in the hands of Chandor at Netflix, Ben Affleck reportedly circled the project last summer before walking away to deal with sobriety issues which obviously continued the film’s stagnation.

Things finally started taking shape back in March with Affleck already one-foot in the door by the time filming took off in March. Fast forward to Sunday evening and with the former Batman actor now coupled with Chandor and actor Oscar Isaac reuniting since the 2014 crime drama, A Most Violent Year, Netflix’s March 2019-bound Triple Frontier is at long last a reality.

Affleck and Isaac lead an ensemble cast for this epic crime odyssey set amid Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge. They are joined by Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal for an explosive, unraveling tale centered of five friends who reunite to take down one of the world’s most violent cartels in South America, only to unleash a chain of unintended consequences with questioned loyalities in their wake.
