One of the more explosive developments stemming from the 28th edition of FilMart in Hong Kong was the aspirational buzz surrounding Soi Cheang’s latest return to blistering action, Twilight Of The Warriors: Walled-In. Teaser footage for the new action flick went viral in mid-March long after hitting the market floor in the last few years and managing to land itself distribution in multiple territories including North America. Nowadays the inaugural teaser can be found online via Media Asia with plans to roll out in Hong Kong from May 1.

Based on the cult 2010 manhua by Andy Seto and “Yuyi,” Twilight Of The Warriors: Walled-In is set in the eighties inside the dangerous and enigmatic Kowloon Walled City, which was a de jure Chinese enclave within British colonial Hong Kong. The film follows troubled youth Chan Lok-kwun as he accidentally enters the Walled City, discovering the order amidst its chaos, and learning important life lessons along the way. In the Walled City, he becomes close friends with Shin, Twelfth Master and AV. Under the leadership of Tornado, they resist against the invasion of villain Mr. Big in a series of fierce battles. Together, they vow to protect the safe haven that is the infamous battleground city.

Twilight Of The Warriors: Walled-In stars Louis Koo, Richie Jen, Raymond Lam, Philip Ng, and this year’s Lifetime Achivement Award recipient at the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, action star Sammo Hung. The film is produced by John Chong and Wilson Yip, and features action sequences by Kenji Tanigaki, best known for his incredible feats designed for hits like the Rurouni Kenshin franchise, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, Hidden Man, God Of War, and many Donnie Yen starrers over the years like Legend Of The Fist: Return Of Chen Zhen, The Lost Bladesman, Big Brother, Raging Fire, and Sakra.

The initial teaser we first posted earlier this month is now available in hi-res along with new promo footage you can catch below!
