Universal And Blumhouse’s THE BLACK PHONE Rings In The Official Trailer

https://youtu.be/3eGP6im8AZA

I’m loving the setup here with The Black Phone. A kidnapee forced to MacGyver his way out of a sound-proof basement with the help of the dead? Plus he’s taught to be resourceful as well as fight? Way to go Scott!

The phone is dead. And it’s ringing.

Director Scott Derrickson returns to his terror roots and partners again with the foremost brand in the genre, Blumhouse, with a new horror thriller.

Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.

Ethan Hawke stars along with debut actor Mason Thames from a script co-written by Derrickson and co-scribe C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange, Sinister franchise), and based on the award-winning short story by Joe Hill from his New York Times bestseller 20th Century Ghosts.

Universal and Blumhouse are releasing this one in theaters beginning February 4!
