Updates From LADY BLOODSPORT Bootcamp!

The Action Elite shared a recent update from the B&E Productions official website regarding some further casting news made for the B&E/Voltage Pictures co-production of Lady Bloodsport, which is being produced by Ty Lawson and writer Bey Logan (pictured above/right), who are joined by action director and co-star Temur Mamisashvili and assistant action director and co-star Andrew Dasz. Adding the name of award-winning bodybuilder and mountain climber Lisa Cheng  (pictured above/left) to its official cast, the film is currently in pre-production stages training its actresses at a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu studio in Kowloon to be lethal femme fatale who are ready and able to take on world class underground martial arts tournament fighters.

Jet Tranter and Selina Lo were two of the first names announced to star in the film back in April. Hong Kong actress, author, painter and yoga instructor Joy Wang was in New York recently training at a Kung Fu studio training in preparation for her role of kung fu fighter, “Wai” under Mamisashvili’s own instructor, Master Zhang Shrfu. Another name added to the cast listing is Elle Furie, who trained in Vovinam with Cologne-based wushu expert and gymnast, Mathieu Sychla to prepare for the role of “Van”. Vovinam is a martial art that also deals with a number of techniques involving scissor-kick leg throws, some of which can also be seen in recent vietamese action hits like The Rebel with actor Johnny Tri Nguyen.

Other actresses-in-training include Natalie Ng as Burmese fighter, Aung, and Ramona Pascual who plays Thai kickboxer, Jaa, and Joyce Lui as Sanda fighter Lau, along with Christina Oshunnyibose, Alana Fruen, Rachel Poon, Nelly Musei, Natalie Lund and Shell Zhu. The rest of the male cast includes Ian Campbell, Julian Gaertner, Harry Oram and Hong Kong based martial arts actor Phillipe Joly who plays the main villain.

No word yet on who will direct, but the film is slated to start filming later in the year. Stay tuned for updates and follow all the action you can on Facebook.
